We offer small, thematic classes for different ages that encourage enjoyment and freedom of expression. We believe in collaboration in a friendly non-competitive space that will enable each student to embark on a journey of creativity, discovery and choice.
Using a diverse range of visual stimuli our young artists are inspired to experiment with exciting art techniques and media to develop visual skills, artistic ability and confidence through their creative projects.

Enjoy quality time with your child, in our relaxed and welcoming space. Have fun with art, make memories and experience the far-reaching rewards of helping to unleash your child’s inner artist! Our carefully planned and guided sessions mean no prior art experience is required.
Each week, we introduce creative themes by reading a story. Working alongside their parent or carer, children are encouraged to explore these themes by sharing their ideas and experimenting freely with a range of suggested materials and techniques.
Through our diverse programme of activities, we aim to develop an understanding of the basic building blocks of art – mark making, line, shape, colour and texture – and what this can communicate. Having fun through the process of making art can present so many learning opportunities, from fine motor skills and visual perception to collaboration and verbal expression, which will enrich each child’s creative path.

Our after-school art sessions offer a time and a space in which our younger artists can slow down, step away from their busy week and enjoy an hour of calm and mindful creativity.
With a maximum ratio of five children to every adult, The Art Room teachers spend time with each student guiding them through their projects, discussing their ideas and nurturing the development of their visual and artistic skills with individual tips and techniques.
Each week we explore a variety of themes, materials, tools and techniques through exciting art activities. We put enjoyment at the centre of our sessions and with a diverse programme devised to offer an element of individual choice, each child can explore their potential for self-expression whilst indulging their creative curiosity.
As much a social space as a place to create, The Art Room offers the opportunity for children to share ideas, reflect and collaborate.

Our Afterschool 2 classes are open to ‘tweens’ including those in school years 7 and 8. Our high adult to child ratio allows us to be flexible with our sessions and ensures we can tailor activities to different ages each week. There are many benefits from working in mixed age sessions and we believe we can all learn from each other regardless of age.
